A selection of historical Tokyo maps have been georeferenced: overlaid upon current geographic imagery. Using tools provided in EarthWorks, the visual information in old maps can be compared to a contemporary view of the earth. Such functionality allows viewers to investigate changes over time, such as shifting coastlines, expanding cities, and reduced vegetation.
