The largest known collection of its kind, it contains material about the manufacture of pianos, organs, and mechanical musical instruments. The materials include catalogs, books, magazines, correspondence, photographs, broadsides, advertisements, and price lists. Finding aid.
- Strong Museum Collection
The collection contains piano, organ, player piano, and player organ patents from the Aeolian, Amphion, and Mason & Hamlin companies dating from circa 1825 to 1926. Finding aid.
- Bob Billings Roll Catalog Collection
Copies of piano roll catalogs and other source materials regarding various manufacturers such the Aeolian, QRS, Wurlitzer, and others between 1900 and 1991. The material was originally used by Bob and Ginny Billings as research for the book Billings Rollography: Player Piano Music from 1917 to 1934.
- Larry Sitsky Piano Roll Catalog Collection
The collection includes 250 bound volumes of photocopied catalogs, and over 80 volumes of original catalogs, from player piano companies such as Ampico, Artecho, Duo-Art, Hupfeld, Philips, Pleyel, QRS, Welte-Mignon, and others. The collection was compiled from research for The Classical Reproducing Piano Roll: A Catalogue Index.
