Historic Houses Series
The Historic Houses series, published by the Stanford Historical Society Historic Houses Project, focuses on an important part of Stanford history: the architectural and social history of more than 100 pre-1930 campus houses.
Over the past 20 years, seven books have been published. The most recent, Historic Houses VII: South San Juan Neighborhood and Stock Farm, Stanford University, was published in 2016. The Historic Houses series focuses on an important part of Stanford history, providing architectural and social history on more than 100 pre-1930 campus houses.
The Historic Houses Project also sponsors the Historic House & Garden Tours that share the rich history of campus architecture as well as stories of early residents with Stanford and the broader community.
In 2007, the Historic Houses Project was honored with a State of California Governor's Historic Preservation Award.
