Nia Wilson
Nia Wilson was 18 years old, a cheerleader and rapper from Oakland, California. She was the youngest daughter of Ansar El Muhommad and Alicia Grayson. On the night of July 22, 2018, Nia along with her two sisters, Letifah and Tashiya were brutally attacked as they exited the MacArthur BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station. Nia’s assailant fatally slashed her throat. Letifah was stabbed but survived. Tashiya did not suffer any physical injuries.
Nia’s killer was charged with first-degree murder, lying in wait, assault with a deadly weapon, and violation of parole. On July 17, 2020, a judge with the California Superior Court of Alameda sentenced the man to life in prison without the possibility of parole for second-degree murder.
