About

Stanford Libraries stands against racism. In response to the anti-Asian hate crimes in Atlanta, Georgia and the rise in elder abuse right in our own Bay Area neighborhoods, several staff members provided their expertise in storytelling, research, and United States history to create this exhibit. Our aim is to educate and to let the community know that we stand against these atrocious acts of racism and in support of those who have been victimized for their race. We hope this is just the beginning of your quest to understand the history that has led up to present events, and that the more you learn, the better you will be able to advocate for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
Thank you to the dedicated staff who volunteered their time and enthusiasm to this exhibit. Similar to the Say Their Names exhibit, we wanted this effort to be a beacon of hope to all those in the AAPI community who ever felt like they did not belong or did not matter. I believe this collaboration of people across all disciplines and ethnicities, coming together to rise up, is what John Lewis might have imagined for how we start to redeem the soul of our nation.
