Renaissance Exploration Map Collection Maps and Atlases from the Renaissance Period

The Renaissance Exploration Map Collection is one of the largest digital-only map collections scanned by Stanford Libraries. It consists of 64 atlases, fully scanned from cover to cover as well and 587 sheet maps. The 64 atlases translated to 30,015 pages. The earliest map in the collection is a 1478 Ptolemy map of Europe. You may browse the entire collection through this website, or via SearchWorks.
