Lighting the Way had four primary deliverables to support the project's goals:
- The Lighting the Way Handbook, an edited volume of chapters written by Working Meeting participants and other contributors, including case studies, analysis of best practices and standards, and identification of emergent opportunities.
- Two project reports (white papers), which synthesized information about the project, its meetings, evaluative feedback from participants, and recommended next steps.
- Foundational resources for facilitators and participants, intended to develop a common understanding of the project’s goals, concepts, and structure. This included an overview of the project, an annotated bibliography, and a preliminary list of systems and terms, in addition to event “playbooks” (facilitator manuals).
- Presentations and webinars, intended to share information about the project and engage archives and technology workers and other key stakeholders around these issues.
