These photos were taken around Truckee during the record snowfall of 1882 and show the difficulty in maintaining rail lines in such conditions. Similar photos were taken by I.W. Taber and others, but these appear to be unique, and possible taken by more than one photographer. They were possibly (and likely) added to the Gardiner collection later.
