The Search Results widget displays a set of search results directly on a page. In contrast to the Browse Categories widget or Saved Searches widget, this widget brings exhibit viewers directly to the resulting set.
Accessing the Search Results widget
To use the Search Results widget on a Feature page or About page, navigate to your dashboard and select the page you wish to edit from the Curation sub-menu. You can also get to the same editing interface by clicking the red edit button at the top right corner of a Home page, Feature page, or About page. For more information, see Selecting and Formatting Widgets. NOTE: this widget is not available for use on an exhibit home page and can only appear once on any other page.
Once you are editing the page, click on a grey "+" to reveal a new undefined widget. Next, click on the red "+" to the left of the widget to open up the widget menu, then choose the Search Results widget from the list of Exhibit Item Widgets. You should see the options in the image below.
After you have selected the Search Results widget, specify a search result set by selecting an existing browse category. See Creating and Managing Browse Categories for more information about creating and managing browse categories.
You can also select the view types that are available to the user when viewing the result set: List, Gallery, Map, Masonry, and/or Slideshow. Consult Metadata for more information about selecting which metadata fields display.
Be sure to click on the Save changes button to save your work.
